For over 2000 years, Korean ginseng has been widely used as a medicinal herb in Asian countries.
Soldati reports that Korean Ginseng (also known as Panax Ginseng) is absolutely safe and no toxic side effects were observed in acute, subacute and chronic toxicity tests. (F Soldati, Toxicological Studies on Ginseng. Proc. 4th Int. Ginseng Symp. 1984)
A few words of caution however:

- Ginseng is not recommended in regular doses for pregnant womenexcept in the first and last month of pregnancy, as babies have been reported to grow faster and become large and heavy. This will not harm the baby in any way, but may make childbirth more uncomfortable for the mother.
